Maori Verbs

In room 6 we have been learning verbs in Maori (action words.)
The question is "Kei te aha ia?"which means what is S/he doing.
Ia is the pronoun for both he and she.

We have matched verbs up,filled in cross words and played Simon Says

Here is my hand print,Five fingers in all,Outside they are short,But the middle is tall,

You will find them on windows,you can find them on the wall,they will make a big mess,

For something so small.One day I will grow,And leave them no more,My hand prints will be missed, Of that,I am sure.So here is one now that you can't wipe away.My present to you,This Mothers' Day.

The Ascension Of The Lord

In RE we learnt about the ascension of Jesus.At Galilee Jesus told his disciples to take his gospel to the whole world.He promised to send the Holy Spirit to be with us always and then he returned,In glory to his father in heaven. 


We used crafts to show how Jesus went body and soul to heaven.

City Rail Link Art

             
As a part of art class with Miss Down we created images that will be displayed in the country's busiest rail station ,Once it opens to the public in 2023/2024.

These images will be used and turned into a ceramic tile and display within the station.

Inspirational heros

During reading we have been researching people who have faced challenges and have stood up for what they believed in.They have either been a voice for those that don't have one or a person who never gave up when facing challenges.

My person is Martin Luther king Jr.

Robot Worker

I'm learning to write about what happens before during and after event.

In NZ there was a Kmart. But it was not an ordinary Kmart it was the worst Kmart Ever!
The workers were so bad they took half an hour to scan the items on the conveyor belts because they never knew how to use it. The manager of the store, Mr Purple was a tall guy that was always wearing a tuxedo and had a moustache that dropped down to his feet and he always had his eyes in a way that made him look angry. Nobody went there so they never got any money to get the new modern stuff, there was probably a 1956 computer in that store.

VROOM! Mr purple rammed his motorbike into the parking lot at the shop and walked in. It was chaos, workers were riding bikes around the store, super loud music was playing. The manager nearly passed out, but he made it out just in time. He needed to fire them but first he needed a replacement.
So he looked on his ancient computer for one.

After spending hours on Amazon scrolling through garbage he was an inch too close to giving up and then something pops up, it says ”BUY ROBOT! IT CAN DO ANYTHING, ONLY $500,000.”
“Perfect” said the manager. He took out his credit card and bought it. Days later he heard a knock on the door. He ran to the door and opened it. The mailman Elijah was holding a huge box. ” This big red robot can do anything,” said the mailman. Mr Purple took it and said “bye.” Excitedly he took out the bits and bobs and built it.

He turned on the power and the robot turned on. It was looking down at Mr Purple and Mr purple heard it saying ”hello” in a robotic siri voice and then a staircase slowly lowered down from the robot and a flash red door slid open. ”whoah!” said Mr purple. When he climbed into the robot, there was plenty of big, small, complex buttons. He sat down and a seat belt automatically went over him. The robot asked where he wanted to go.Mr Purple said “my shop.” The robot blasted through the roof and crashed down on the ground in the shop like a superhero. He stepped inside the store and shouted ”YOU’RE ALL FIRED!” and ordered the robot to fling them out. The robot obviously did it.The manager asked the robot to smash the place down BOOM! Mr Purple then said rebuild this store robot, in 5 minutes there was a huge warehouse.

The shop was turning into a real shop!.Mr purple ordered the robot to stock the shelves. People started coming and soon the shop was the most popular in the world. The robot was ordered to make new things to put for sale.

People started coming from halfway across the globe just to shop at this store.
The shop grew bigger and bigger,But the robot kept getting busier.He was constantly
Replacing things scanning peoples items he never got any breaks.But the manager did not care he just kept the robot working and never brought anything for the robot .The manager started pouring water on the robot and shouting faster faster

One normal day while the people were shopping the robot started to tweek and twitch smoke started to pour out of him the manager just thought he was tired and didn't do anything .The robot started to grow and get hotter people started leaving.The manager got cross and kicked the robot to try and fix it but ,instead of fixing it he blew it up. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM explosion was so big it blew up the whole store and the manager went flying and landed in a dumpster all his money was gone.

He was really angry and he could not hire any of his workers back and when he was asked to pay for the robot he could not and he was arrested for not paying off the credit card bill and blowing people up.

Cyber Safety

Room 6 has been learning about Cyber Safety. We have learnt a lot about being a digital Citizen. Here are three key rules that I think are important:

1. Be careful of what you post on the internet. All information and images leave a digital footprint.

2. Never share your Personal details such as full name, age, address and passwords with any people,even those who say they know you.

3. Be nice! No one likes a digital bully. Be respectful and be a great citizen.
